Ok, so I am a slacker. I have enjoyed keeping up to date on every one's blogs, but I have not been very good about updating ours. And I don't even have any fun pictures to add at this time.
Just an update on our happenings since Tristan's baptism.
As some of you know we are having a baby girl, due Jan 3rd. We have been having some fun with this, as either she wants to come early, or my body is done being pregnant. I have been on bed rest and restricted activities for about a month. I have also been on turbutaline to stop contractions. We joked with the hospital about racking up frequent visit points. It seemed like every few days we were there to stop labor, or get checked out. We are off the medicine now, but I guess it was too good, because now the contractions are not regular. But are strong and will come about every 2-9 minutes, but we just don't progress on dilation.
In the past two weeks we have had 3 ultrasounds of our baby and they are monitoring my Blood pressure. We are a little toxic and my BP is too high. (wonder why, huh?!) We just had more tests on the baby yesterday and were told she is doing good and is not under any stress. So right now we are just waiting and trying to be patient.
Zack has been keeping busy and enjoying basket ball, any time outside, and learning different duties around the house as he has needed to help with different things I have not been able to do. Sometimes this gets frustrating for all of us, as we expect him to it how we asked and when, and want it done the way we would. But we step back and have to realize that he is not us, and will do it his way. But he is learning and it has been fun to see him just jump in and do some of the things without having to be asked first.
Zack and Tristan are now in scouts and enjoying all they are learning. Zack is in the 11 year old scouts and Tristan is working on his bobcat and wolf. It is fun to hear they talk and discuss the different things they are working on, and their different perspectives on the motto's and stuff.
Carson is all boy and loving all the things that go along with this, but still loves to help any way he can. Last time I talked to him he said he was going to help his grandma make stuff in the kitchen so that she could take a break and not work as hard. (cute how kids think) He is loving school and excelling at math and loves to point out all the different letters on signs and read the words. (he is in Kindergarton)
Tristan is in second grade and loving to read. He is such a smart kid and I think he gets board at school, so sometimes this is hard as it reflects back on his work ethic. He loves to talk and when he gets board, man can he talk :-) But when he gets going on talking he does not get the work done that is needed. You can ask him pretty much any question and he will know the answer, it is just getting it to paper and getting it done quietly. But give him any book and he will go crazy to finish it and then will be able to repeat back pretty much any part of it, if not all of it.
Roger is keeping busy, busy, busy. He can be found working on the ranch with his friend Berne, working in the office, working on the house, working our antique business or helping someone with something they need to get done. This month he has built a stable, cut down tree's, took care of some animals that were sick, helped a friend move, moved furniture, and these are just a few of the things. I am so thankful for all that he knows how to do, and if he does not know he is willing to find out.
We were able to get another trailor to connect to ours thus we now have 4 bedrooms and two bathrooms. It is wonderful to have the extra space. especially as we are adding more to our family. With this trailor has come A LOT of projects. It had been abandonded and used for what ever. There were holes in the floor, walls, windows. It needed new plumbing, propane connected, new skirt, well, we will just say a lot of work. We are thankful for all the help we have had on this.
Roger and I after much thought and prayer have decided to close his office. This has been a very hard thing to do, and has been an emotional one also. A lot of this has fallen on Roger's shoulders and I have not been able to help as much as wanted.
With all he has been wonderful and has been to most everything with the baby. Even staying the night with me at the hospital and not complaining too much about my snoring and getting up so much durring the nights. I know this has all been hard for everyone, but I don't know of anyone I would rather share it with more than my wonderful husband. He can keep the laughs coming even when you can see it on his face how stressful it all is. I love him tonz and thank Heavenly Father for bringing him into our lives.

It's a Girl......
So I have not posted for a while..... we have had some up's and some down's. I think this little girl decided that everyone needed to know that she was coming. lol We have been to the hospital a few times for "small" things. (bleeding and cramping) They did not feel small at the time, but thank goodness everything is ok. When they were trying to monitor the baby's heartbeat, I think our baby heard movement, instead of heart. She went crazy with movement and kept kicking the monitor so they had to keep moving it around to find her heartbeat.

Baby movements
no pictures on this post, but just had to share. Our baby was moving like crazy yesterday, so I had Zack put both of his hands on my stomache and I put mine over his and pushed them a little bit. OH MY, you should have seen his face light up when he felt the baby move. He was so excited. It was one of those fun, thankful to be a Mom moments.

Tristan's Baptism Weekend
NEWS FLASH!!!!!! Tristan Brent Conlin turned 8 on Sept 1st and was baptised and confirmed by his Dad (Roger Conlin) on September 5th. YEAH!!!!!

We (Roger, Zack, Grandma and Grandpa Conlin and I) were able to travel to Colorado for Tristan's special day. We stayed at the Super 8 motel friday and Saturday. Saturday we were able to spend the day with Tristan and Carson.

After the baptism we went to Deseret Book and got Tristan a set of scriptures. While they were putting his name on them the boys and I went for a short walk. Of course being boys, they found a rock to play on. :-) It was a tight squeeze, but they all managed to get on top and stay on top, long enough to get a picture taken.

After the bookstore we stopped and got lunch at KFC and then headed up the mountains to Estes Park.

After that we headed across the bridge and had fun walking through all the stores and through the rain. Don't worry, we did take time to go to the "Old Fashioned" candy store and the homemade fudge store. Carson and Tristan were pretty worried we were going to go to Estes Park and not get to the candy store.

Fun Feet?!?!
Fun Feet? Fun Pregnancy. Yes fun pregnancy, just not sure about the feet. Sad to say this is even after having them up for most of the day. This is about an hour after I took my shoes off, and you can still see the strap across the middle. When I first took off my shoes you could see the whole outline of where they went.
Just though I would share. :-)
These are the fun dimples that you can make from pressing on them. :-) they take a while to go away after. But look funny, and it feels like you are pushing on playdough. Crazy.....

New Things at the Ranch
New things at the Ranch...... ok, maybe not all new. But new to us..... and a catch up for some others.
This is me. Just over 5 months along. Monday we will be 22 weeks. Don't know what we are having yet, but will post when we find out. So far everything is going well, the baby is moving a lot and has decided my bladder is a trampoline. It does this drop move and will be sitting high, and then just drop onto my bladder. Fun to feel it move, but that is one that really makes me cring...I always worry I will have an accident when it does this move. :-)
This is our shed Roger built. It has been wonderful as we have been able to store a lot of stuff out there and then it is out of the weather. I am very grateful for his talents and all that he does.
This is our new dog (Mischief) He is a lot of fun, and has really helped Zack cope with his brothers being gone. It has been fun to have a dog that will actually stay in the yard and we don't have to worry if he will be gone when we get home.
This is our truck (chevy, silverado) We needed to get a bigger vehicle that would seat 6 people (for when the boys are here) and we needed a reliable vehicle to replace the toyota. (due to the deer getting in front of our car)

summary of July
Each month we write a letter for family that sums up our monthly activities. My Grandpa collects these from all the families and post's them to a family website. I know some will be repeat of other posts, but since other family views this also. I figured I would post on the blog.
Hope I don't bore any of you.
Karryn & Roger I guess I had better start first with an apology to Carson. Writing the letter last month I left out his birthday. We celebrated with a family/friend bar-b-que at our house and then went and played in the river. He asked for a Chocolate cake with lemon frosting and M&M's. He wanted the M&M's to cover the whole cake so that everyone would think there was not any icing. He did a pretty good job with this and was a big help in decorating this. (making was little harder as we had to borrow our neighbor's stove, so he played with friends during this time)
Having to use our neighbors stove was due to our stove not working. We have only been able to use the stove top. But even that has been a challenge.
One morning Roger was cooking breakfast and we heard a pop and had fire underneath the stove top. The pipe going from the propane to the burner had come apart, so the fire was under instead of on top. Roger turned off the stove and blew out the flame and later that day Roger and were watching a move and he asked if I could smell the propane. I told him I could smell something funny. He checked and the propane was still turned on, but the flame was out. One of the burners (no matter how low you turn it) flames would come over the edges of the pan. it would not adjust at all, would just burn at full. Flame but would not heat up. We even turned it up to 500 degree's and the inside only got up to 250 degree's. (We had to cook Carson's Birthday cake over at our friends house, and when the kids wanted cookies, we bugged them again for use of their stove)
Just some of the fun. But thank you to a wonderful sister-in-law we were able to get a new stove. We had been trying to save, but it seemed like anytime we got anything saved then something would happen to need just what we had saved.
After we got the stove ordered we took a break and went to Dallas to visit my parents, and take care of Doctor's appointments and continuing ed for Roger. The week before we left our car started over heating. The drive up was very hot as we left 111 degree weather and not able to use the Air Conditioning. (the over heating was due to the cooling fan not working) luckily with my Dad's help Roger was able to get this fixed. I guess our car decided that one repair was not enough so the next evening they were back under the hood and tires off working to repair the (wing nuts?) luckily this was the only thing and we were able to enjoy our time with my parents and relax a little bit.
When we got back to town Roger's sister Holly was in town for the week. We enjoyed spending some time with them.
Zack's school was selling discount tickets to Wonderland Amusement Park a few months before school was out. We decided it would be a lot of fun to buy them and go as a family while Carson and Tristan were in town. Needless to say this was before I was pregnant. Roger was not up to getting motion sickness, so we invited the boys cousin (Cedar) and friend (Beau) to come with us. Roger and I got walking passes, so we could watch the boys, and take pictures. It worked out really well, and was a blast.
Very First ride they went on was the bumper cars. Thank goodness Cedar was with us so that Carson could ride. They had a blast, and went on this time and time again. (Carson told me it is good thing I did not go on the bumper cars, because if I did and we crashed, the baby would have just gone flying out of my stomach.) (good thing I did not go on them huh?! LOL) fun things from the mouths of kids.
Thursday we ended up at the Hospital for an emergency ultrasound and then to the doctor after. Luckily everything was ok, just a scare, but we were "upgraded" to High risk pregnancy and will be having more ultrasounds and 70% chance of 9
the baby being born c-section. We also got the "pleasure" of going to see more doctors as our OB is worried about my heart doctor not being close during the pregnancy. Blessing in all of this is we got notice Thursday morning that our insurance had gone through and we would have coverage for the pregnancy.
That weekend we were working on our Honda getting it ready to take the boys back to Colorado. Roger was changing the brake pads, when he took the front driver's side break pad off it was wet, as he was looking at it, he found out the Caliper was broken. This was about 8:15 pm and we had to leave for Colorado the next morning. We decided we would hurry into town and hopefully catch the parts store before it closed. We debated about leaving the boys home since they were getting into bed, but changed our minds. We grabbed some snacks and headed into town. (drive takes about 45 min) about 15 miles into our drive we hit a deer and ended up on the side of the road with a non-working car. We called our friend Berne to come and help us tow the car and called Roger's parents to come and get the kids and help us get the part that was needed. Luckily everything worked out ok and we were able to get the boys back to Colorado. Nobody was seriously hurt, just some sore muscles from the seatbelts and Roger's hip from pushing on the brake so hard.
The day that we got back from Colorado our car was back "up on blocks" as there are more problems with the brakes. I had to laugh and try to smile as our friends son (Beau) asked what needed to be fixed on the car. Trying to list out everything was kind of fun, but hard. Needless to say we realized we were putting more money into keeping this one going than it would take to make payments on a reliable one. We went and were able to get a 4 wheel drive truck that seats 6. We have realized all the blessings from this as the night that we got the truck we got a very heavy rain storm and had to use the 4 wheel drive to get home. Since then we have used it multiple times to help move things, or just to be able to get in and out of our home. (last/first 10 miles from our house is dirt road)
Zack and Roger were able to go to a two day 11 year old scout camp. Zack's cousin Cedar was able to go with them, and get some of the requirements he was still needing. They had fun even through it rained and flooded their tent, and they got to watch as Roger killed a rattle snake. But they had a blast and got a lot of the requirements needed, taken care of. and just enjoyed the time together.
Other than all this we have stayed busy with working cows. If you are interested in seeing some of what roger works with and some of the land around us, our friends have a wonderful blog at http://lazyarrowbranch.blogspot.com/, patients, insurance companies and staying busy together as a family. I was talking to Mom and she said she did not know if we could make it through a week without something happening. Roger's mom mentioned that this must be just because we are doing the right things and trying to get through the temple. My friend Benji mentioned that all the blessings that have come out of everything is because we are doing the right thing.

Tired of Scorpions
ok, no picture, sorry was hurrying to get them out of the house. Last night I was making muffins for dinner. The muffin tins are up in the top cabinet. I pulled them down and found that I had 3 "friends" in them. 3 scorpions had decided to live in my muffin tins. UGH!!!!! But you can be proud of me... I did not scream. I just took the pan outside and let Roger take care of them. and then the nice wife that I am, I got him the pest control guys phone number. These 3 make about our 13th or 14th so far. sorry, not complaining. I can handle most things, but not when the pan was on the top shelf and I had to lift it down over my head..... UGH!!!!.... still love living in the country and would not change it for anything. Even to get rid of the scorpions...... LOL

UGH>>>> can our lives slow down now?
Ok, we are ready for our lives to slow down. Saturday night Roger was working on our Honda getting it ready to go to Denver Sunday morning. We thought it was just the brakes that needed to be changed, but then found out that the Caliper on the driver side front wheel was broken. So we loaded everyone into the Toyota and headed into to town to get the part, and hoping to get there before Auto Zone closed. About 10 miles from our house, a deer had a different idea, and decided to cross the road in front of our car. Needless to say neither of us made our destinations. Everyone is ok..... Roger's parents came and got the kids and headed to town to get the parts that were needed, and our friend Berne came and towed us back to our house. Now the fun starts..... Liability only on the car..... need a new car......what to do with this one.....UGH>>> tonz of fun.

NEW STOVE!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!
This is my new stove.... YEAH!!!!! We moved over Memorial Holiday, and have only been able to use the stove top. But even that has been a challenge.
1- one morning Roger was cooking breakfast and we heard a pop and had fire underneath the stove top. The pipe going from the propane to the burner had come apart, so the fire was under instead of on top. Roger turned off the stove and blew out the flame and later that day Roger and were watching a move and he asked if I could smell the propane. I told him I could smell something funny. Just some of the fun. But thank you to a wonderful sister-in-law we were able to get a new stove. We had been trying to save, but it seemed like anytime we got anything saved then something would happen to need just what we had saved.
Wonderland Amusement Park
Zack's school was selling discount tickets to Wonderland Amusement Park a few months before school was out. We decided it would be a lot of fun to buy them and go as a family while Carson and Tristan were in town. Needless to say this was before I was pregnant. Roger was not up to getting motion sickness, so we invited the boys cousin (Cedar) and friend (Beau) to come with us. Roger and I got walking passes, so we could watch the boys, and take pictures. It worked out really well, and was a blast.
This is the "JET SPEEDER" Carson getting ready to ride, and Cedar watching. Then Cedar getting a ride. It did not take very long, but shot them down a tube of water. They had a blast racing the person in the other lane.
This ride is like a Lazy River. The boys all had fun except Carson who started crying becuase he got wet, but then got off and went right back on it. (I guess he figure it was still fun..smiles)
Very First ride they went on was the bumper cars. Thank goodness Cedar was with us so that Carson could ride. They had a blast, and went on this time and time again.

(Carson told me it is good thing I did not go on the bumper cars, becuase if I did and we crashed, the baby would have just gone flying out of my stomache.) (good thing I did not go on them huh?! LOL)
They all even went on the "little" kid rides. This is Tristan, Cedar and Carson riding on the "Hopper" It takes you all the way to the top, and then bounces you back down. Cedar said the chairs really are not made for bigger kids, but Carson asked him to go with him, so he did.
Zack and Cedar went on this water ride, don't know if they would go again, they had fun, but when they hit the water, both of them hit the safety bar. Cedar said it was kind of hard to breathe after and the next day they both were sore. We think it was the force of the water, and that they were the only ones in the boat.
All in all it was a lot of fun, and worked out wonderful to have Cedar and Beau with us, they split up with different people so nobody had to ride anything alone. (except Tristan, but he wanted to ride the spinning tea cups and no one else wanted to)

4th of July
Our fun 4th of July....Roger let me sleep in and after I got up we took the boys fishing for a few hours. Then we enjoyed the time playing and fishing in the river, by our friends house. After we were done, then we headed home to cleanup and headed to town for the firework display the city put on. These are a couple of photos's. I know they don't do it justice, but the boys had a blast, and that is all that counts.
Carson's Birthday (delayed)
For Carson's 5th Birthday his Aunt Christine and Uncle James gave him a gift card to Toy's-R-Us. He was so fun to follow through the store. He would ask if things were in his limit, if they were he would look at them very serious and then say lets just leave it on the shelf for now. A couple times he asked me to carry something for him, but then he would change his mind and put it back. When he saw the "Wack-a-mole" he just lit up, and asked if it was in his limit. It was, and oh my, if he could have done a "Ford" jump he would have. He was so excited. He said that he had always wanted one.
He has had a blast playing with it, and figuring out all the games you can play with it. Thank you tonz to his Aunt and Uncle.
